Here’s How to Troubleshoot Error Code 6000 77 in QB Desktop

Here are the best solutions you should use to fix error code 6000 77 and update and open the company file without any interruptions:

Solution 1: Replace the .ND and .TLG Files with a New One

.ND and .TLG are configuration files of QuickBooks that help QuickBooks access the company file on your system. Any damages or corruption to these files can cause issues when accessing the data file. Use the following steps to fix and replace this file with a new one.

  • Open ‘File Explorer’ and go to the location where your data files are stored.
  • Find the files named as your company files with .tlg and .nd extensions at the end: company_file.qbw.nd and company_file.qbw.tlg.
  • Right-click these files simultaneously and select ‘Rename.’
  • Edit the file names and add .OLD in the end as company_file.qbw.nd.old and company_file.qbw.tlg.old.
  • Doing this will replace these files with old ones and fix any damage.

Solution 2:  Create the Damaged Company File Folder Again

The hardware malfunctioning or issues with your system can damage the company folder, which further causes interruptions when opening the files in the same folder. So, it is necessary to fix these issues quickly to access your data file successfully.

  • Open the ‘File Manager’ and go to C: drive.
  • Now, create a new folder in the same.
  • Go to the folder where the data file is saved, named as.qbw.
  • Right-click on this company file and select ‘Copy’ from the options.
  • Move to the newly created folder and ‘Paste’ your copied file.
  • To ensure QuickBooks can access this folder, set the Windows permissions to share company files.
  • Launch QB Desktop and open the company file from its new location.

Solution 3: Launch QuickBooks with Admin Rights

Provide all the admin rights to QuickBooks by following these steps:

  • Go to the home screen of your computer and look for the QB icon.
  • Right-click this icon and select ‘Run as an Administrator’ from the options displayed on your screen.
  • Wait for some time and try to open the company file again in QuickBooks.
